How we check for fragrance
Ingredient list first
We read the full ingredient list from the maker's page, or from the US FDA drug label record for antiperspirants, and quote the result in our research notes.
When we cannot tell
If the list cannot be read, or an unscented product includes a masking ingredient we cannot rule out, we leave the fragrance-free tag off. A shorter list we can stand behind beats a long one we cannot.
Ratings and links
Nothing is invented. Which products are listed: the products here are some of the most well-known brands, plus a few smaller makers, that we could document. That is not a ranking. Products our editor has tested hands-on get an Editor's Choice call-out and are listed as the Best; no product carries that label until it has been tested. We do not accept payment for placement, and the facts on each product page come from the maker's own page and at least one other source.
